The EMPOWERED & EQUIPPED@九秀直播 service model engages the entire 九秀直播 campus in extensive mental health training that empowers awareness, knowledge, and acceptance. In addition, 九秀直播 is committed to equipping our campus community with tools, resources, support, and skills as a pathway to positive mental health outcomes for students. As a result, the 九秀直播 campus has reduced the stigma associated with mental health support and created a culture of understanding and inclusivity

Dr. Christine Brown, Ed.D, LCPC, NCC, ACS

Background Statement
Dr. Christine Brown received both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Chicago State University in Psychology and Clinical Mental Health Counseling respectively. She has spent most of her career serving in community based mental health and social justice activities involving women of color. Dr. Brown received her doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from Governors State University in 2018 and returned to 九秀直播 July 2022 as the Director of Counseling.

Background Statement

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (九秀直播) and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health (National Louis University) . In 2014, I became a Certified AODA Counselor working specifically with those struggling with addiction My areas of interest in mental health include development of coping skills, inner child work, and cognitive reconstruction as well as breaking generational patterns, self-care, and psychoeducation. Solution-focused therapy, person centered therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and interpersonal psychotherapy are theoretical approaches I have found to be successful.
